Wow summer is zipping by awfully fast. Suprisingly enough, this has been a very pleasant last couple of weeks. Tom got me a job working for his house arrest/government company and I only work 3 days a week. But... there is a downside to every story, as I work from 6pm to 6am every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, which means I literally have no social life. I don't mind it though. I love it. I never went out on weekends in the first place. AND, not hearing my cell go off for more than 2 days in a row is such a great feeling. I love going a whole week not talking to anybody!
The best part about my job is that I'm on the graveyard shift with only a couple other people, so when we are slow I just go on the net or read. I already read the new Harry Potter book in there and have already went through half of my Freshman Spanish book (I'm trying to get fluent in Spanish, which was already a life long goal for me). Plus, one of the guys I work with in there speaks a little Japanese, and finally I have time to sit down and learn the language. I'm starting on the alphabet and I already love it.
I'm also getting paid almost $12/hour, which is great because I already have enough money to buy my acoutic guitar. This is what I've wanted for quite some time now. The only difference is that I think I'm going to pay the Gibson custom shop like a hundred dollars more to put different inlays on the fretboard. I was thinking about cherry blossoms, but I think that might get a little complex. Although I'm getting it for a little above cost, the guitar already retails for like $3000!
Who needs a girl when you've got a beauty like her?
Did I even tell you that I quit my band? Well, ya, I did. Actually I wasn't getting along with Brent, and I think I have never really gotten along with him in the first place. I just don't like him and how he treats me. I know he never liked me, so I guess it was mutual. Plus, Mark basically stabbed me in the back. But I really don't want to talk about that. I don't talk to him anymore anyhow, and I don't plan to ever again. I also decided not join my friends band Following January (oh click here to hear songs from their new album!!!). I got really sick of playing in a band and the crap that comes with it. I've wanted to do my own solo thing for so long and I think its about time I focus my attention on it. I already started writing NEW songs for my album and will be collaborating with a few people for the album as well. The only thing else I need is a female voice to do duets with. Can you believe I even went to the nail salon with my mom last week? Actually it's because I'm growing out my nails on my right hand so I can play the acoustic without a pick. The sound is very pretty too when you fingerpick.
Last night I helped Tom move some of his things into his new apartment in Huntington. His apartment is only $1450 a month for a 3 bedroom/2 bath and is located on the corner of Beach and Main! It's an awesome apartment too. He's going to have so much fun there, although he has to drive all the way back down here to RSM to his job 5 times a week. If I didn't have to purchase so much stupid musical equipment for my studioI would definetly be up in Huntington until I move off to San Francisco for art school. Oh, and I guess you cold add in there like another $1500 for sleeves. Even my Dad asked me the other day when I was going to finish up my sleeve on my left arm (which is only a 1/4 of the way done) and I thought to myself, "Crap I got the money I should just start now." Although it's summer I'm going to finish up the top half of my arm before summer is done. Promise.
Guess what? Havasu is coming up next week AND I'm finally going to have jaw surgery. When? Well, on my 23rd birthday, which is September 22. I think the date might be a day or two earlier, but that's kind of a weird birthday present to myself, isn't it? Oh well the only think I need to worry about it to eat lots of food before because my jaw will be tied together by rubber bands for like 2 weeks or so. I'm not looking forward to loosing 10 pounds at all!
Having a 4 day weekend is the nicest thing in the world I think. I got bored today, so I made a list of my favorite movies (in no particular order).
Good Will Hunting
Can't Buy Me Love
That Thing You Do
Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon
Dead Poets Society
Titanic (I'm not afraid to say this is one of my favorites. You can call me any bad word in the book if you like, I don't care...)
I actually spent 5 minutes ripping this song from the cd, download it or die...
