Surgery [24 May 2004|08:22pm]
[ mood | scared ]

So the countdown has begun...

1 & 1/2 days until surgery.

Wendnesday morning will come before I know it. I've been in my 2nd set of braces for over a year now, waiting for this surgery. As happy and excited as I am, and no matter how optimistic I may sound, I am scared sh*tless to say the least.

I'll be:
[+] Under the knife for about 4-5 hours.
[+] Hospitalized at least for 1 day, possible until Friday.
[+] unable to talk (so my trusty writing pads and hand gestures will be my only form of communication).
[+] Rubber banded shut for at least a month while my jaw is healing.

For my recovery I've also taken 3 weeks off of work, and from the world for that matter. If you want to reach me to say hi, you can drop me an email or leave me a message on my cell. Of course, I can only answer by email.

Wish me luck. :)

Love always,
Chaz

Takashi Toshiro [16 May 2004|07:39pm]
[ mood | rushed ]

Last night I was at work and I get a call on my cell. It's roughly around 1am, so I check to see who in gods name would be calling me at such an hour. My Dad's cell phone # pops up in the screen so of course I answer. He and my Mom were on their way back from a birthday party for one of our Japanese friends whom we play hockey with up in Huntington. Despite the fact that we have been extremely close friends with the rest of the Japanese owners for roughly 10 years and even played on their traveling teams every season, it wasn't until now that we learn that her brother is Takashi from the 'Revenge of The Nerds' movie.

Apparently he still dresses the same as he did in the movies! And guess what... he hangs out with, and is, very close friends with the rest of the nerds, erm... well, actors, from the movie! Imagine seeing him, Pointdexter, Lamar, Burger, Lewis, and Wormser all walking down the street still in the same type of clothing they wore in their movies!

How could you not love the song playing in the background as he crosses the finish line?

As Takashi would say, "Hair pie? Sank you very much..."

Kiss It Goodbye [09 May 2004|01:15am]
[ mood | bored ]

So the other night Tom and I are at a Ramen house in Little Tokyo and there are these two pretty (yet deceitful) Japanese girls sitting next to us at the bar. Perhaps a tad older than us and in their mid 20's. Although I could make out quite a few of the words, they talked entirely too fast for me to understand the underlying intentions in their words. I decided to steal a couple of quick glances every now and then, but it wasn't until we left that Tom informed me that everytime I turned to look away the cute one on the right kept puckering up her lips and making a kissing gesture in my direction.

Man, I have really got to get fluent in Japanese...

Love always,
Chaz

For Alysa <3 [28 Apr 2004|11:45pm]
[ mood | cheerful ]

Happy Birthday Alysa!

This song is for you my love.

Counting Crows, The - "Colorblind"

I am colorblind
Coffee black and egg white
Pull me out from inside
I am ready
I am taffy stuck and tongue tied
Stutter shook and uptight
Pull me out from inside
I am ready
I am fine
I am covered in skin
No one gets to come in
Pull me out from inside
I am folded and unfolded and unfolding
I am colorblind
Coffee black and egg white
Pull me out from inside
I am ready
I am fine

Love always,
Chaz

Goodbye Again [26 Nov 2003|10:42pm]
[ mood | melancholy ]

I have a new journal.

On another note, I'm moving to Japan in early August to finish up BA. But don't worry, I'll be back eventually.

If you happen to see me before I leave, you'll notice that I look like a completely different person. Of course I'm still the same person inside. Still just Chaz.

If I don't see you before I leave, and chances are I won't, I wish you the best of luck in the near future.

And, at least for my sake, don't forget to smile. Let the world see how truly special you really are.

Sayonara!

Love always,
Chaz

New job! [17 Jul 2003|09:49pm]
[ mood | okay ]

Wow summer is zipping by awfully fast. Suprisingly enough, this has been a very pleasant last couple of weeks. Tom got me a job working for his house arrest/government company and I only work 3 days a week. But... there is a downside to every story, as I work from 6pm to 6am every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, which means I literally have no social life. I don't mind it though. I love it. I never went out on weekends in the first place. AND, not hearing my cell go off for more than 2 days in a row is such a great feeling. I love going a whole week not talking to anybody!

The best part about my job is that I'm on the graveyard shift with only a couple other people, so when we are slow I just go on the net or read. I already read the new Harry Potter book in there and have already went through half of my Freshman Spanish book (I'm trying to get fluent in Spanish, which was already a life long goal for me). Plus, one of the guys I work with in there speaks a little Japanese, and finally I have time to sit down and learn the language. I'm starting on the alphabet and I already love it.

I'm also getting paid almost $12/hour, which is great because I already have enough money to buy my acoutic guitar. This is what I've wanted for quite some time now. The only difference is that I think I'm going to pay the Gibson custom shop like a hundred dollars more to put different inlays on the fretboard. I was thinking about cherry blossoms, but I think that might get a little complex. Although I'm getting it for a little above cost, the guitar already retails for like $3000!

Who needs a girl when you've got a beauty like her?

Did I even tell you that I quit my band? Well, ya, I did. Actually I wasn't getting along with Brent, and I think I have never really gotten along with him in the first place. I just don't like him and how he treats me. I know he never liked me, so I guess it was mutual. Plus, Mark basically stabbed me in the back. But I really don't want to talk about that. I don't talk to him anymore anyhow, and I don't plan to ever again. I also decided not join my friends band Following January (oh click here to hear songs from their new album!!!). I got really sick of playing in a band and the crap that comes with it. I've wanted to do my own solo thing for so long and I think its about time I focus my attention on it. I already started writing NEW songs for my album and will be collaborating with a few people for the album as well. The only thing else I need is a female voice to do duets with. Can you believe I even went to the nail salon with my mom last week? Actually it's because I'm growing out my nails on my right hand so I can play the acoustic without a pick. The sound is very pretty too when you fingerpick.

Last night I helped Tom move some of his things into his new apartment in Huntington. His apartment is only $1450 a month for a 3 bedroom/2 bath and is located on the corner of Beach and Main! It's an awesome apartment too. He's going to have so much fun there, although he has to drive all the way back down here to RSM to his job 5 times a week. If I didn't have to purchase so much stupid musical equipment for my studioI would definetly be up in Huntington until I move off to San Francisco for art school. Oh, and I guess you cold add in there like another $1500 for sleeves. Even my Dad asked me the other day when I was going to finish up my sleeve on my left arm (which is only a 1/4 of the way done) and I thought to myself, "Crap I got the money I should just start now." Although it's summer I'm going to finish up the top half of my arm before summer is done. Promise.

Guess what? Havasu is coming up next week AND I'm finally going to have jaw surgery. When? Well, on my 23rd birthday, which is September 22. I think the date might be a day or two earlier, but that's kind of a weird birthday present to myself, isn't it? Oh well the only think I need to worry about it to eat lots of food before because my jaw will be tied together by rubber bands for like 2 weeks or so. I'm not looking forward to loosing 10 pounds at all!

Having a 4 day weekend is the nicest thing in the world I think. I got bored today, so I made a list of my favorite movies (in no particular order).

Good Will Hunting
American Beauty
Can't Buy Me Love
Big
Goonies, The
That Thing You Do
Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon
Dead Poets Society
Titanic (I'm not afraid to say this is one of my favorites. You can call me any bad word in the book if you like, I don't care...)

I actually spent 5 minutes ripping this song from the cd, download it or die...
Crumb - Overboard

Sh*t Talker [01 Jul 2003|05:07pm]
[ mood | surprised ]

It's weird... this is the first time (to my knowledge) in my life that I've witnessed someone talk sh*t on me. I'm not sure how to react really. Should I get mad at them and talk sh*t on them? Or should I just turn the cheek and pretend I'd never met that heartless person?

It takes an extreme amount out of you to hate someone, and I've discovered in life that the only things worth holding onto are your family and loved ones and your integrity.

With each passing day that I'm on this Earth I'm learning to live my life with honestly. To me, being true to yourself is #1 in my book.

I never said anything bad about this person.

I still won't say anything bad about this person.

But now I know why I avoid people...

Love always,
Chaz

Graduation Day [19 Jun 2003|10:10pm]
[ mood | cheerful ]

GRADUATION DAY!!!

My lil bro ain't no little no more

Take a while guess where he is.

So my brother's graduation was today. I really didn't think much about it till we got there and the ceremony started. I still can't believe he's already out of high school. Time goes by so quick, and for some reason or another, it saddens me, and even makes my chest start to hurt every time I start to think about something like this.

Awwwwwwwwwww look how cute we were.

Of course Chase was Chase, and he was always Mr. Attention.

Congrats Chase! I love you my lil bro.

Reach for the stars, for you are one yourself.

Love always,
Chaz

The lazy days of summer... [12 Jun 2003|11:51pm]
[ mood | bored ]

Sometimes in life you have to learn to relax...

Summer days are upon us. It's grand. Tomorrow I am going in for training at my new job. Yup, I'm finally quitting Guitar Center. Thank gawd, because it's time to move on. I'll only be working 3-12 hour days, so I'll have 4 days off. So... I think I'll be relaxing and helping my Dad out around the house for a bit, until I decide which studio I want to intern for.

My parents went to Vegas for a couple days for my Dad's birthday. I'm happy to see them get away. It's nice to see your parents as if they were in their late 20's, sometimes. As for me, I'll be working and spending the time alone. What else is new?

I need a haircut.

Maybe my new job will let me grown a beard.

I'd rather look the way I feel...

Uninterested in you.

Love always,
Chaz

Do you ever stop to think? [08 Jun 2003|11:13pm]
[ mood | indescribable ]

It's funny... I wish, just for once, someone would ask me an intelligent question like, "What matters most to you?"

To me, it's a no-brainer.

My loved ones...

Love always,
Chaz
